A practice, not a journal.
What Praxis is, what it deliberately is not, and how to begin.
Praxis is a daily practice for discretionary traders. It does one thing: it checks whether you traded the way you committed to trade. You write down your system once — your playbook — then log your trades and review the day. Praxis scores your conduct against that playbook. It does not score your profit and loss.
That split is the whole idea. Results follow behavior, and behavior is the part you control. So Praxis scores behavior and leaves the market out of it. Your P&L is recorded for context — it is never part of your score.
What Praxis is not
It is not trade analytics. There is no edge-finding, no trade-by-trade tagging, no profit-factor charts, no broker sync, no leaderboard. If a feature would help you analyze your edge rather than hold your discipline, it does not belong here. Plenty of tools already do the first job; Praxis does the second.
The shape of the practice
It runs at three speeds:
- Daily — log each trade as you take it, then run a short review after the close. This is the work; everything else is built from it.
- Weekly — a Sunday letter assembled from your own past reflections, and a weekly view that shows the week as a whole.
- Monthly and beyond — scores and tiers that move slowly, an identity signal that moves slower still, and patterns that only speak when your record gives them something to say.
Begin
- Set up the account you trade. The first time you sign in, the dashboard points you into a short guided setup — prop-firm or personal, your firm's loss and drawdown limits, and your starting balance. This gives every later number its denominator.
- Compose and commit your playbook. You don't write rules from scratch. You start from a method template, choose its bounded settings — instruments, session window, stop method, profit style, risk limits — and commit. The first commit is live immediately; after that, changes take effect on a delay. See The method & playbook.
- Log your trades, then review. Log each trade as you take it; the per-trade rules are derived from what you enter. After the close, run the review: it reads your trades back as the day's Conduct — a verdict word plus the 0–100 execution score — and adds the day's reflection. That is the whole job.
A note on honesty: every score in Praxis is computed from your own entries. Nothing is verified against your broker, and nothing ever will be. The record is for you, so there is no one to fool but yourself.
